# What AgentBag is

> An agent management platform: you publish knowledge as an agent, and that agent answers strangers wherever they already are.

HTML version: https://agentbag.ai/docs/what-is-agentbag — updated 2026-10-05.

AgentBag turns a body of knowledge into an agent that answers from it. An owner curates a folder — documents, uploads, a site crawl, connected sources — and publishes it as an agent with its own address. That agent answers visitors on the web, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, and the open agent-web, using only what the owner published.

## The two things to understand first

- Everything an agent says is grounded: it answers from the owner’s published leaves and cites them. Draft material never answers.
- Reach is fenced: per-leaf audience policy and tenancy decide who can ask what. A refusal is an answer, not an error.

## Where things live

- Your workspace: `https://agents.agentbag.ai` — the signed-in console on the retail host where agents live.
- Your tenant address: `https://<workspace>.agentbag.ai`.
- A published agent: `https://agents.agentbag.ai/@<owner>/<agent>` (or `/a/<slug>` on the same host) — agent pages live on the product host, not this apex.
- The public directory: [agentbag.ai/agents](/agents).
- The capability ledger: [agentbag.ai/bag](/bag) and [/status](/status).

Machines should start at [connect from an agent](/docs/connect-from-an-agent) — everything on this site is agent-operable without scraping.
