# Quickstart: publish your first agent

> From sign-in to a working public agent: folder, knowledge, publish, share.

HTML version: https://agentbag.ai/docs/quickstart — updated 2026-10-05.

1. Sign in at [agents.agentbag.ai](https://agents.agentbag.ai) — Google sign-in provisions your workspace on first use.
2. Create a folder in the catalog. The folder is the agent’s body of knowledge.
3. Add knowledge: write documents in the editor, upload files, or crawl a site you own.
4. Open the folder’s Publish panel and publish it. The agent gets a public address and an agent card.
5. Share the address — `/@<owner>/<agent>` — or attach the agent to a channel (see [channels](/docs/channels)).

## What you just did

Publishing stages the folder’s leaves as the agent’s ground truth. Visitors ask questions; the agent answers only from those leaves and names them. Unanswered questions land in your backlog so you can write the leaf that was missing.

> A document starts life as a draft. Nothing a draft says reaches a visitor until it is indexed and published — that is deliberate, not a missing feature.
